Be a Kidsline Buddy

Buddies are year 12 or 13 students from schools in the Auckland area who help answer Kidsline calls. This is an opportunity to learn and work with a highly supportive team with full training provided.

Skills can contribute towards educational and personal development. In return we ask for a commitment of attending two shifts per month for two years with shift times being either 3:45-6:30pm or 6:15-9:00pm, and attending training and events. The shifts can fit around your schedule, however, the training dates are set and you need to be available for all of the days and times below:

Training dates (compulsory): 

Wed 15th April 10:00-3:00pm
Thurs 16th April 10:00-3:00pm
Fri 17th April 10:00-3:00pm
Wed 22nd April 10:00-3:00pm
Thurs 23rd April 10:00-3:00pm 

Applications are open until 5pm on the 28th of February. After applications have closed we will inform applicants if they have been successful in moving onto the interview stage on  9th of March by 5pm. You will need to be available to make one of the below interview nights if you are selected for an interview.

 Tue 24th March 5:30-7:30pm
 Wed 25th March 5:30-7:30pm
 Thurs 26th March 5:30-7:30pm

There are also mentoring/trainings and social nights throughout the year which we expect an 80% attendance rate. These dates are:

Mentorings: 1:00-4:00pm 
May 2nd 
June 6th
August 8th
September 12th
November 7th

Social nights: 6:00-8:00pm for buddies
July 4th
October 10th
