Terms & Conditions

How to enter

1) Entry into this competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

2) The competition is known as the 2008 Kidsline Poster Competition. The Promoter is Kidsline at 95, Great South Road, Remuera, Auckland. Phone:- 09 524 3080.

3) a) The competition is open to pupils of New Zealand schools aged 14 years or under. There will be two age categories of entrants, these are:

- Category 1: Entrants aged 10 years or younger
- Category 2: Entrants aged between 11 and 14 years

b) In order for Category 1 or Category 2 entrants to be eligible to win a prize in the competition, the entrant’s parent or legal guardian must provide their consent by signing the entry form.

c) Only one (1) entry per pupil will be accepted.

d) The entrant’s parent or legal guardian may visit www.asg.co.nz/scholarship and complete an online registration form to go into the draw to win the ASG Education Scholarship Prize. To be eligible to enter, the parent or legal guardian must have a child aged under 10 as at 1/11/08


4) The immediate family of Kidsline employees and any of its associated companies or organisations are not eligible to win prizes in the competition.

5) Each entry must be the original work of the entrant(s) and the entrant(s) warrants that he/she is the original creator of the work entered.

6) The competition commences on Monday 5th May 2008 and closes on Friday 4th July 2008. Entries must be received at Kidsline by 5pm, Friday 4th July 2008. Entries will be judged between Thursday 17th and Monday 21st July..

8) No responsibility is taken for late, lost, misdirected or incomplete entries.

9) All entries become the property of Kidsline both physically and in terms of all intellectual property and copyrights. Kidsline can utilise or amend entries in any manner they deem fit.

10) Only entries on the official 2008 Kidsline Poster Competition entry form shall be accepted.

11) The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries/claims and to disqualify any entrant/claimant who tampers with the entry/claiming process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.

Judging

12) All entries will be initially viewed by staff of Kidsline or their representatives and a selection of 300 top entries will be made based on the following criteria:

a) Would the poster attract the attention and convey an appropriate message to children 14 years and younger?

b) Is the poster free of unnecessary detail/clutter?

c) Is the meaning of images/script used visible from a distance of three feet?

d) Is the overall design and style appropriate for promotion of Kidsline?

e) Would it be possible to reproduce the poster in large quantities for distribution?

f) Is the content clear and easy to understand?

Are the issues/information included relevant to Kidsline?
Do the images/text clearly convey the intended message?
Does the poster include the Kidsline number?

13) The top 300 entries in each category will then be scored by a panel of judges made up of staff or representatives of Kidsline based on the criteria above.

14) The decision of the judges will be final and absolute. No correspondence about the decision will be entered into.

15) The winners will be notified by email, phone call or letter to the winners’ school within 4 weeks after judging.

 
Winners

16) There are three categories of winners:

a)Category 1: Entrants aged 10 years or younger
b)Category 2: Entrants aged between 11 and 14 years
c) Category 3: ASG Education Scholarship Prize – randomly selected parent or guardian who completed online registration form

17) Winners selected by the judging panel will be the Category 1 and Category 2 winners comprising of:

- One overall winner for each category
- One highly commended in each category
- 23 commended in each category

18) The Category 3 winner will be one randomly selected parent/legal guardian who registered their details on the online registration form at www.asg.co.nz/scholarship

Prizes

19) Prizes for the overall winner in both Category 1 and Category 2 (as determined by the judging panel), will comprise of a laptop computer, a Nintendo DS, a Nestle winner’s pack, Adidas gear, a framed copy of the winning poster and a winner’s certificate of congratulation. The schools attended (at the time of entry into the competition) by the overall winner in Category 1 and the overall winner in Category 2 will each receive $500 of Whitcoull’s vouchers and an Art Pack valued at $200.

20) Prizes for the highly commended entrant in both Category 1 and Category 2 (as determined by the judging panel) will comprise of a Nintendo DS, a Nestle pack and a highly commended certificate of congratulation. The schools attended (at the time of entry into the competition) by the highly commended entrant in Category 1 and the highly commended entrant in Category 2 will each receive $300 of Whitcoull’s vouchers and an Art Pack valued at $150.

21) Prizes for each of the 46 commended winners (23 from each category) comprise a Nintendo DS and a certificate of congratulation.

22) The prize for the Category 3 winner is the ASG Education Scholarship Prize and is subject to the terms & conditions located at www.asg.co.nz/scholarship:


23) In the event that a specific prize is unavailable, Kidsline reserves the right to award a substitute prize of the same or equivalent value at its absolute discretion.

24) Prizes will be delivered to the winners’ schools or home addresses (as appropriate and as agreed at time of notification of win by Kidsline). All expenses incurred in using any prize, other than those specified in the prize details, are the sole responsibility of the schools and the winners.

25) Kidsline and their associated organisations will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to any indirect or consequential loss) suffered or incurred in connection with participation in the competition or redeeming the prizes, except as may be required by law.

26) If the Promoter is unable to contact the overall winners, highly commended or commended prize winners by e-mail, mail or phone or via their school within two (2) weeks from the date of selection; or if the overall winners, highly commended or commended prize winners are unable to redeem their prize in accordance with these terms and conditions, that individual will forfeit the rights to their prize and Kidsline may select a new winner in that category. The new winner will be determined by the judges.

27) Prizes are not transferable, negotiable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash or alternative prizes

Personal information

28) All entrants consent to the use of their names, characters, photographs and posters for promotional or publicity purposes in connection with this competition and for future promotion and marketing purposes without additional compensation. The winners must be available upon request for any promotional or publicity purposes.

29) The Promoter collects entrants’ and parents/legal guardian’s personal information in order to conduct the promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant will not be eligible for prizes in the promotion.

30) Information about entrants will be held by Kidsline and will be shared with ASG for information purposes. All individuals have a right to access any of their own personal information held by Kidsline and to request correction of that information. This should be requested in writing by contacting Kidsline at the address stated in condition 7 above.


Other matters

31) Kidsline reserves the right to amend any or all terms and conditions.

32) These terms and conditions are governed by New Zealand law and any dispute arising out of them or in connection with the prize will be governed by New Zealand law.
